President Piñera announces new measures to stregthen Chile's National Consumer Protection Agency in the areas of health and education. Speaking at the launch of the new national consumer protection agency's (Sernac) public awareness campaign "Sernac te protege en todo Chile" ("Sernac protects you all over Chile"), the President explained that the aim is to extend "these protecting arms, so that every Chilean feels empowered and equipped with the necessary tools to assert their rights, in all situations and on all fronts". This campaign, along with the bill to create the National Citizens Attention Service which was sent to Congress, are "two more steps taken by this Government to reestablish the healthy principle that we all have rights and obligations".
